Barry Bonds was born on July 24, 1964 in Riverside, California and went off to Junipero Serra high School in San Mateo, California, where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball.

He is the son of former MLB All-Star Bobby Bonds. He is a former MLB outfielder and played for Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants from year 1986 to 2007. He made his MLB debut with the Pirates in year 1986 and in year 1993 he joined the Giants, where he stayed till year 2007.

In year 1896 while playing for the Pirates, he led NL (National league) rookie with 48 RBI's, 16 home runs, 65 walks and 36 stolen bases, but he ended up 6th in Rookie of the Year voting. In year 1986 he played center field, but switched to left field in year 1987 with the arrival of centerfielder Andy Van Slyke.

In year 1993 he left the Pirates and signed a contract of $43.75 million with the Giants for 6 years. At that time the deal was biggest in the history of the game in the terms of both average yearly salary and total value.

Bonds is regarded as one of the best players of all time in the history of the game. During his career he won 7 MVP (Most Valuable Player) awards, which includes record 4 consecutive MVP’s. He is 8 time Gold Glove and 14 time All-Star winner. He holds several MLB records, including the all time MLB home run record with 762 and the single season Major League Baseball record for home runs with 73, and he is also the all-time career leader in both international walks (688) and walks (2,558).

His career was full of controversy and was associated with the baseball's steroids scandal. In year 2007 , he was accused on charges and of perjury and obstruction of justice for supposedly lying to the grand committee in the course of governments inquiry of BALCO, by testifying that he by no means knowingly took any prohibited steroids. The trial started on March 21, 2011 and was condemned on April 13, 2011 on the obstruction of justice charge.
