George Mikan 1948 Bowman PSA 10 is one of the famous basketball cards. No doubt, it is the Holy Grail of basketball card world. This card is the key to the earlier basketball-only set in sports card history.

Often referred as 'T206 Honus Wagner of basketball cards', this card was printed in second series of Bowman. The card has been confided by a private collector with a minimum bid of $50,000 at Memory Lane Inc's Hidden Treasures Auction. The 1948 Bowman Mikan was rated as one of the top 20 sports trading cards of all time.

Nicknames as Mr. Basketball, George Mikan was an American professional basketball player. Bespectacled gentle giant George was a really pioneering legend of the game. Constantly playing with round and spectacles, he is one of the pioneers of professional basketball, specifying it as a game of so-called big men with his shot blocking, prolific rebounding, and talent to shoot over small defenders with the two-handed hook shot. Mikan is a Hall of Fame player who finds his way onto list after list of NBA All-Time Greats.

George Mikan 1948 Bowman basketball set is the only basketball set Bowman would produce before out of the sports trading card business in 1955. It was the first time that Bowman sports card set was created in color. It symbolizes the set of last mainstream basketball card until Topps started their card set in 1957-58. While basketball players were occasionally featured on sports cards prior to the 1940s, the ’48 Bowman set was the first all-basketball card set ever created.
