The God of Basketball - Michael Jordan

Basketball could have been in his genes, but Michael Jordan developed potential after a lot of hard work. In his school days, Michael played 3 sports: baseball, basketball and football.

He loved baseball a lot it was basketball; however, that would make him a world-known athlete. As a senior, he became recognized nationally and was on his way to a bright collegiate career with the University of North Carolina. In 1982 NCAA Basketball Championship he hit the match winning shot against Georgetown University.

Before being drafted in the NBA by the Chicago Bulls, Naismith College rewarded him with Player of the Year Award. He went on to finish his degree in Geography even after entering in the NBA.

Jordan has received so many awards. He won the Rookie of the Year Award for his first year of playing and went on to be named the NBA’s MVP a record 5 times, winning 6 NBA Championships. In year 1988 he won the defensive player of the year award. In every NBA All-Star Game, Jordan has been the most dominating threat, winning the Most Valuable Player Triple Crown Award no less than twice.

He suffered from an injury in the third season of his career, Jordan worked at reinstating himself even more. When he re-joined the league and his team, he was an NBA powerhouse, averaging almost forty points per game. But, even with superb show, Jordan still had not received an NBA Championship Title.

Then in 1991, the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan won their first-ever Championship by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers and the Magic Johnson. In the next season, the Bulls set a new record by winning 70 games. Jordan is the only player ever to win 3 successive NBA Finals Most Valuable Player awards.

In year 1993 he decided to retire from the game. After two years he again joined the Chicago Bulls, and once again showed his dominance. After his first 3 successive NBA Championships, the Chicago Bulls went on again to win 3 more NBA Championship titles in a row. He again retired and became part-owner of the Washington Wizards, then again came back and played a season with the Washington Wizards. After that he retired once again but this time for good and presently manages and owns most of the Charlotte Bobcats.
